The July 1937 Air Festival at the
Villacoublay Airfield, sponsored by
the French Air Ministry, was an
impressive display of French air
power, skill, and equipment. Highlights of the festival were
acrobatic stunts on military
aircraft such as the new fighter
plane shown flying upside down on
the poster, as well as parachute
jumps, and flights in formation by
Air Army squadrons. Among the
spectators were French President
M.A. Lebrun and the Sultan of
Morocco.
