Description:
The German Tour, May 28 - June 2
1935. Compulsary Landing at
Overwiesenfeld Airfield: Sunday,
June 1, 1935.
The 1935 German Tour
"Deutschlandflug", an annual event
sponsored by the German Sport Flying
League, was a skill and endurance
test for the participating
aviators. The circuit began and
ended in the German capital Berlin;
in between, the pilots had to make
six stops in designated cities
around the country on each of the
six days of the race, covering more
than 3,000 miles. One hundred fifty
four airplanes formed 30 competing
teams from cities across Germany.
The race was won by four pilots from
Danzing, flying Klemm monoplanes.
This poster has information about
the compulsary landing at the
Oberwiesenfeld airfield outside
Munich, so that local people could
see part of the race.
