Description:
First International Aeronautic
Exhibition. October 12-28, 1935
Milan Fair.
Planned as a continuing biennial
event, the timing was not good for
the First International Aricraft
Exhibition sponsored by the Italian
government in Milan. In 1935, only
a few days before the fair,
Mussolini invaded and took over
Ethiopia, causing hard feelings
amongst the European colonial
powers, especially Great Britain who
in protest did not officially attend
the Milan fair. The timing also was
not good for the future of the
Exhibition, begun on the eve of the
second World War; another fair was
held in Milan in October 1937, but
Europe was at war by 1939 with
Poland and Czeckoslovakia occupied
by Germany, and Albania occupied by
Italy.
