Eurasia Aviation Corporation was the
first regular commercial airline in
China. Established in 1930 as a
joint venture between the Chinese
government and Deutsche Luft Hansa,
the airline was originally part of a
German scheme to open a direct route
from Berlin to Shanghai. The Soviet
Union denied permission for Germany
to fly over Siberia, however, and
Eurasia was confined to domestic
operation. The German Junkers 52
illustrated on this poster was put
into service in China in 1936.
