This poster for the Aviation Meeting of Chambery features the shield for the Chambery region. The aviation meeting of Chambery held September 22-23 in the small town of Savoie, was organized by the chief administers, and parliament of Savoie.

During the meet there was an air show in which the following aces performed: LeBrix, Hoegelen, Detroyat, Thoret, Delmoffe, Maurice Weiss, Van Loere, Magnerd, Jean de Viscaya, and parachutists, Mlle Maryse and Genet.

Joseph LeBrix, the co-pilot of captain Dieudonne Costes, held the record for a five continent tour of the world. On October 14-15 1927 Lieutenant Joseph Lebrix and Captain Dieudonne Costes made the first non-stop crossing of the South Atlantic, from St. Louis, Senegal to Port Natal, Brazil. They traveled in their Breuget 19(named Nungessercoli). In 1928 LeBrix and Costes won a prize for their outstanding contribution to French aviation. Later, in 1929, Lebrix flew from France to China.

The parachutist Mlle Maryse Bastie was France’s darling airwoman. On July 29 1928 Bastie flew for 39 hours, setting a distance record in a light aircraft. Her flight from Le Bourget to Pomperania, covered a distance of 788.67 miles, making this the longest recorded flight by a woman. Bastie set three world records during this flight; one for a woman in sustained flight, one for a man or woman in a lone sustained flight, and one for a sustained flight in a light monoplane. Bastie outstripped her opponent Elinor Smith of Long Island, and remained in flight 26 hours and 46 minutes longer.
