National Air Pilots School was started in 1927 by the Rotterdam Aero Club as the first civilian flying school in the Netherlands. At the four branches of the school - Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Twente, and Eindhoven - students learned to fly on two types of Dutch sport planes: the Pander Sesquiplane, a light, open two-seater meant for basic training; and the Koolhoven cabin monoplane, a more powerful machine with an enclosed cabin. |
